The Dashboard map is used to view the positions of permit requests on the current dashboard list. At an upper zoom level, the locations will be indicated with dots, sometimes grouped together where jobs are close together, as indicated on the following screenshot where 1 job is on Elizabeth St and 2 are in the same area on Queen Street:
Depending on the zoom level, or the position of the underlying tiles, more jobs may be grouped together, as in the screenshot below, where the map has been panned slightly and the Elizabeth and Queen St jobs are now grouped under one dot showing 3 jobs in the vicinity:
As you zoom in closer to the sites the map gives way to actual polygons of the sites, and shows your job numbers:
Click on the job numbers to view a popup of details about the job. Click the view job details link to go direct to that permit request:
I want to change the map view / satellite view / GeoSmart view
To change the Map Type, click the dropdown box at the top right corner of the map (this will be set to Google Maps as a default):
When changed to GeoSmart view, the "Base Layer" toolbar will disappear as these options are only available through Google Maps. You will also not be able to zoom in as closely, and the map may have less labels (e.g. businesses) than shown on Google Maps:
When in Google Maps view, you can select whether to view base Streets / Hybrid / Satellite maps:
I want to view map in full screen
At the top right of the screen is an option called Full Screen. Click this to open the map to take up the full width of the browser window:
The Full Screen button will change to "Close" when in full screen view. To close the full view, click the Close button:
I want to view the jobs by status
If you wish to view only specific types of permit requests on the map, you have the option to include / deselect permits of certain statuses using the "Surrounding Status" bar on the right of the map:
Only permits matching statuses with checked boxes will be shown on the map.
