You can track the progress of a permit once you have approved it by looking at the status. After a permit is approved, the contractor is required to update the status when work is pending ("Works Pending"), work has started ("Works In Progress"), and when they have completed the work ("Works Completed"). The contractor can also let you know if works are abandoned ("Works Abandoned") or cancelled ("Works Cancelled") by changing the status.
If you notice that a contractor hasn't updated the status and it is past the works start date, you can message the contractor to update their permit. If it is past the end date and the status hasn't been changed, you can follow this up with the contractor.
Similarly, if works are abandoned or cancelled and no explanation is given, you may wish to follow this up with the contractor as well.
